Dear Selection Committee,

I am writing to recommend Tanya Anticevic for your program.

I was introduced to Tanya Anticevic by a mutual theater arts colleague in January 2010, when Tanya had just moved to Los Angeles.

Later in the year Tanya became a teaching artist with our company, Aimee Art Productions, at King Middle School in Silverlake. She came with her own curriculum called “ACTion Workshops”.  Her weekly theater games class was tailored to the needs of the after school setting for a group of ( roughly 25 ) middle school students. Workshops  focused on warm-up/relaxation, listening/ being in the moment and other acting skill building techniques and Improv. The culminating performance called “ The Imrov Show “, created by students from characters and scenarios they created in class, was a huge success.

The students gravitated to Tanya’s energy and charismatic style of teaching. They eagerly anticipated classes and the chance to engage in activities geared towards creativity, teamwork and critical thinking & language skills, with a nurturing and experienced teacher. It was a positive experience and there was great feedback regarding Tanya’s teaching/coaching abilities. She guides students to do what comes naturally to them: to pretend and use their imaginations.

Tanya  has a lifetime of experience as a working actress,  she is a certified teacher for 20 years with an MFA in Acting. I would strongly recommend Tanya Anticevic for any type of coaching/teaching position.

Thank you for your time and consideration.  I am sure you will be glad to work with Tanya and that she will be an asset to  your program.

Best,
Aimee Young Hopkins

To whom it may concern,

Tanya Anticevic coached my son Jean-Luc in preparation for the spring 2008 audition for High School for the Performing Arts, New York. She is a bright energetic person who has incredible skill in bringing out the inner actor and maximizing the potential of her students.  Jean-Luc improved in several areas including; ability to emote, memorization, interpretation of material and connection to the audience. In addition to Tanya’s teaching my son I have known her professionally for several years and have always found her to be responsible and capable.   I would enthusiastically recommend Tanya for teaching acting in any capacity. She will be an asset and a catalyst for stimulating interaction.

If you have any further questions please feel free to contact me at 845 626 7440.

Sincerely yours,

To Whom It May Concern:

It is my pleasure to recommend Tanya Anticevic (Tavereau) as a Teaching Artist.  She has been part of the Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center adjunct faculty since February of 2009, teaching children ages 5 – 16 in six week-long Musical Theatre Camps.  Her specialty is Theatre Games and Improvisation, drawing heavily from the classic work of Viola Spolin.  Tanya is wonderful with children, encouraging and kind.  Her classroom activities are always engaging and she is always prepared with a multitude of various games that encourage imagination and improvisation in a nurturing and safe environment.  She demonstrates great flexibility in the classroom; she has strong instincts for when to change directions and introduce something new.  I particularly enjoyed watching her “cool down” methods; she likes to end each class with an “imaginary journey,” which introduces children to yoga, relaxation, and breathing while putting a nice cap on the session.  I know that Tanya will be teaching third graders in her proposed residency; she works particularly well with this age group, and I recommend her strongly.  If you have any additional questions concerning Tanya as a Teaching Artist, do not hesitate to get in touch with me.

Sincerely,
Julienne Penza

To Whom It May Concern,
Tanya Anticevic worked with my daughter as a drama coach in the spring of 2009. My daughter was a junior at East Hampton HS and had a leading role in “Twelve Angry Jurors”. Tanya helped her gain confidence, analyze and understand the script and polish her acting ability. The performance was wonderful! We gratefully appreciate Tanya’s help in making that happen. Tanya is a talented actress who relates well to children of all ages. I have friends whose children have attended her workshops and raved about how their children enjoyed themselves. It is my pleasure to recommend Tanya to anyone interested in learning what fun it can be to be involved in the theater.

Thank you,
Jeannine Ryan

To Whom It May Concern:

I am the site supervisor of an afternoon enrichment program working with 4th – 8th graders at a school in East Hampton, New York.  The kids are with us from 3:00-6:00 every school day.  During that time the kids spend about an hour working on homework, and then we have organized activities meant to provide them with enrichment experiences they would normally not get in school or out.  We are always trying new activities in the hopes of finding something that the majority of kids will enjoy while they are learning.  One of the activities we tried was called, “drama games,” and it was taught by Tanya Tavereau.  Sometimes it is a struggle to get the kids interested in our activities, but thanks to Tanya’s many skills the kids were quickly hooked.  Tanya’s unique blend of improvisational games and skit acting was appealing to all the kids.  She has the kids laughing and learning at the same time.  Over the course of the semester, she built on the skill level of the class until the kids were working on short skits that they had written themselves while in small groups.  Based on my observations of her with the kids, I wholeheartedly recommend Tanya to any acting school.  If you would like further information, don’t hesitate to contact me at: [email protected]

Sincerely,
